I like IE8, it's good enough - so if IE9 is better, I may actually start using IE on a regular basis. For now, though, I've never found anything to meet the stability + security of FireFox 3.6.

LOL IE9 coming out, lets see what big change its going to have, I'll be surprised if it does improve significantly, but I plan to stick to FireFox since its perfect :)

Despite the fact that I'm sure that some would disagree, there is no question as to who has put it to it's best use and potential...Opera.

Check again. Opera 10.50 is now final.
    enough already!

Go debate Opera > whatever in another thread, this one is about IE9.
Why, can't you tolerate a normal discussion? I'm not the only one that has brought up browsers other than IE...and with good reason.
The way your comments are written just invite trolling/fanboyism.

Its OT, not related with IE9, so do it in another thread.

I like the speed of FF and the addons. I also very much like the the built in spell checker. It works great for forums. I am on a guest machine using IE 8 at the moment and I miss the spell checker. I will definitely try IE 9; but I will probably remain with FF.
I have found that (not spam) Google Chrome and Opera are much faster than FF.
Chrome has the same spell check capability.

    Have you tried either recently?
I have not tried Chrome recently. I do need to try it again. However, with addons, especially NoScrpt, Ad Block+, and IE Tab, I have FF running just the way I like it and running smoothly. I am running v 3.6.

For me, FF is the best balance of all: usability, extensions, speed, etc.

I think Chrome beats any browser in speed though.

features are one thing, but most of "IE haters" are complaining about bugs and security, while they just dont get that simply IE bugs are more publicized since most people are using IE.

While I rarely use IE. I agree with you. Further, there are more exploits against IE because it is the most widely used browser. If FF was more widely used, there would no doubt be more exploits against it.

The article you linked was an interesting read. However, many legitimate sites, particularly manufacturer's are almost completely flash and some of these sites I visit regularly. I depend on NoScript to keep me out of trouble with flash. If I don't need to run flash to find what I am looking for, I don't enable it.
