    Hi Quantum,

The main reason I posted the news article was the mention of reducing bloat ,

Most of my experience with Dell has been with business machines and workstations / servers, and these don't suffer the problems of bloat suffered by their consumer machines.

Hopefully Dell & the other the OEMs will get the message coming from MS that "less is more"

    maybe backup...for license reasons

i remember when i bought my Dell, there were dell programs everywhere,
    to burn cd (never worked)
    to backup
some kind of "front row" program that looked like sh**
    dell drivers folders
    dell startup program
    dell control panel
+ all the so called "trial" i don't give a f*** programs hahaha

    maaaaan i love windows 7 !

hahaha I'm with you Gary, just received my Inspiron 1545 ...the amount of dellware crap is funny...instead of removing one by one i just installed build 7068 X64 on it.
Upgraded my RAM to 4GB, and wireless card..sweet

OEMs should put all those programs in a sandbox and let the user decided which ones to push on the computer and which ones to remove entirely.
