Ideally, Apple could learn a lot from Google. Realistically, people will continue to buy Apple products simply because of the brand name. Android is the biggest threat to Apple, right next to Windows 7 right now. Android is not a clone of the iPhone OS. Neither is WebOS, or any other mobile OS for that matter. When a new standard emerges, or rather, an new innovation, you can expect it to catch on in the industry. These things should not be proprietary and owned solely by one company.

It is totally a clone of it. It's the non Apple version of it down to the layout.

Android is Linux. iPhone OS is based on OSX, which is built on Unix. By your definition, every version of Windows from 95 onward is a clone of OSX because Apple invented the desktop GUI, icons, and the dropdown menu. Like I said, when something innovative comes out, you can't expect other companies to sit around and do nothing.

Actually the GUI, desktop, and icons were all invented by Xerox. Both Apple and Microsoft copied Xerox.
