Great, i upgraded to Pro today!! I wasn't really intend to use much the XP mode but here it is accessible to my processor.

the Xp Mode download page, force to the W.A.T (Windows Activation Tool, kb971033) !

Should i uninstall the kb971033 after install the Xp Mode/virtual PC ?

    EDIT:
Well, it doesn't work! they must have forgot to update the files...!
At least M.S does know now it is a perfect legit version i have!!
Is it trap for pirated copies of Win7, or what?
i suspect it probably is, as most pirated copys of 7 are Ultimate, it forced the update on me too, and made me restart my browser (without TELLING me i needed to, i just figured it out because when the page refreshed it told me to download it again) great news on this though, XP mode kicks Virtual Boxes ass so far,
I didn't mind this update...it had refresh my page either the same way.

The only thing i noticed from other threads, is that i have the WAT in task scheduler, but not set to the 90 days reminder....just pending. Might be because i'm within the EU ?!?
It also clearly appear in system32.

After having uninstall the XP mode and the Virtual Pc (i've download it too quick, before they update!). The WAT activation appeared in my firewalls rules and was set as a "Non-Existing App", i've deleted the rule.

I might DL it again, now they have add the new KB977206 file to their site.

Try it and let us know.

Edit - When you select HP the following message appears.

You are not eligible to download Windows XP Mode. You must have Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate to run Windows XP Mode. To upgrade visit Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade.
    Thanks.

Does anybody know if other virtual machines still need virtualization technology enabled? I mean, is this No-VT update something separate that makes XP mode to run without VT, but Virtual PC itself still needs it when other vm's are run?

    Download Windows XP Mode

Thanks you, but is it possible just to download the update?!
I don't have time to download all of it again; I have ultimate version, it already has it.
BTW, I have updated my windows some mins ago, checked again the XP mode, but i am still receiving the same error, because of hardware..... i can't run it.

I think it's how I thought, that other virtual machines run on Virtual PC still need VT to be enabled:

It passed successfully to test of XP mode....The install asked me to set password and the machine prepare itself right now to set the XP Mode. I assume the patch kb977206 works for non V-T processor.....

Hello Kari, It does works without VT proc!
Mine is for sure a non VT as i have checked specs.

Tell you later when finished set up!
