    The issue is that Microsoft won't open up the code to allow for improvements and features. It's a pain to code addons for Internet Explorer from scratch. At the same time, I feel like all they can do is take suggestions since Internet Explorer is the most targeted web browser on the planet and releasing the code for it would be opening up a whole batch of worms in terms of exploits.

    It's not that simple. Did you read my explanation? Yes, they can. But they will not because it will make it even easier for hackers to exploit it. Internet Explorer is a core component on the Windows OS as a whole.
