Microsoft extends free Windows 7 trial
by Richard Thurston
Microsoft has extended its program offering businesses a free trial of Windows 7 Enterprise to the end of 2010.
The 90-day trial program was introduced in September, ahead of Windows 7's official launch. On Tuesday, Microsoft announced the new schedule for it.
"Due to popular demand, the Windows Enterprise Trial program has been extended. This means you now have till December 31, 2010 to download and evaluate the trial version," wrote Stephen Rose, senior community manager for Windows, in a post to the Windows team blog.

The 90 trial for the Enterprise edition is geared towards businesses still running 2000, XP Pro, Server 2003/2005, and so forth that might consider upgrading once they have had a trial period to examine the new version. Likewise you might run another type of software like an av program for 15-30 days before deciding to purchase the full retail version of that. The beta and RC testing stages for 7 are long over now!
