is that an update or what?
He's referring to KB971033 which is an update to Windows Activation Technologies. It basically makes an update to your activation service which causes non-legit copies of Windows 7 to revert back to non genuine status.
so would you have to re-install the entire OS or will the SP1 just intall over the current OS?
just want to know if i have to save all my files/apps/data as they will all be deleted or if i can just install without losing any info?
thanks
Although people can put effort to bypass either "live" WAT or "beta" WAT, the final SP1 should be bigger than the current beta by making previous patches "mandatory", while testing a few things at this time. Unless these betas have debugging code to be stripped out. Plus, they may push new things to newer betas until they reach final, release status.
Now, what exactly have changed in this Beta SP1? Or is it just a compilation of all KBs launched so far? I read somewhere (Lifehacker I guess) they improve Remote Desktop client and was pretty much just that. Is that true??
My guess is, as always, you should apply this SP1 over current W7. All your personal data should not be touched. Again, is a guess, I'm at work and can't mess installing a beta patch on my workstation. Now, where is that damn dev box...
Latest Zukobonus have latest updates than this SP1. :)
^^ each and every leak of win 7 had come from .ru You installed win 7 RTM from technet directly without installing any leak builds ?
So what's in SP1 then? Any performance gains?
