    Digital Economy Bill Passes

    Posted: 08 Apr 2010
Last night the UK Government rammed through the controversial Digital Economy Bill after its third reading and just two hours debate. This means that it will later become law, everyone will stop sharing files online and the music and movie industries will net billions in the years to come. Better still, it has the full support of the people.

That was a great article, well written.

am i the only person who sees this new law being a "creeper"? today its "proven illegal file sharers" next it will be "suspected illegal filesharers" and then it will be "anyone we suspect might be breaking the law for whatever reason we feel like"

That's what the article is all about, in a rather satirical fashion.

Surely this act make Google totally unusable. You won't be able to Google stuff in case you chance on copyright material.

    FYI

Better still, it has the full support of the people.
Means the exact opposite - it is deliberate. It is called Irony.

This seriously isn't the answer for the recording companies/industry - like O2 say, they need to move on with the times - wake up and smell the coffee and stop relying on governments around the world to add useless and very flawed legislation like this.
