I've never understood why people get so hyped up about service packs. Typically they are all the updates you already have through windows update in one package :)
One notable exception was SP 2 for XP x64. It made a significant difference in performance and utility of the OS. Personally, I don't care about the W7 SP1, until I know for certain whether it contains WATS or not.

SP2 for Vista did a lot in regards to performance.

they don't talk to me much since i told them the direction WLM was headed was poorly thought out and that team interop was managed poorly with WLW3.
They don't listen to me much either, drop them an email, you never know, if they get enough on a subject they MIGHT think about doing something

That's the question a lot of us are interested in.

I think it's inevitable at some point.

Maybe they've been up for a while and we didn't notice.....

Ahh yeah that is true. Same with XP 64 bit SP2 and actually I recall XP SP3 seemed a decent improvement. Nevermind then lol... Still though... as MS stated its mostly minor updates for windows 7. I thought there was going to be some update for how windows works with multiple core cpu's?

SP1 is only going to be a round-up of already released updates...as long as your windows update is current, there is no need to install this SP..
