Konrad who? Unsung computer pioneer remembered

Quote:
The inventor of the computer was a little known German engineer named Konrad Zuse, according to a new museum exhibition that seeks to revive the unsung hero’s notoriety.

Six museums around the country, led by the German Museum of Technology (DTMB) are to celebrate the 100th year since Zuse’s birth and bring to light his largely forgotten contribution to the revolutionary invention of the 20th century.

“The computer didn’t come from America, and Bill Gates didn’t invent it,” said Dirk Böndel, director of the DTMB.

The man was a genius! I did a report on the 5 most important people (IMO) in the development of the computer and Konrad was high on the list. His story is very interesting.

Hmm, that reminds me my studies in the 1950's. We had to program a Zuse Z11 as part of our Math education.

You've really used Zuse? I'm impressed!

After reading about this yesterday, I decided to visit the exhibition as soon as possible in German Museum of Technology in Berlin.

Yeah, that's how a Zuse looks like. This is a later model.

Window size is not remembered
Why "suddenly" are all my windows opening at less than full screen? No matter what I click on, My Docs, favorite websites, etc., there's now a gap at the bottom of the screen. What did I do to cause this and what can I do to fix it? Annoying to say the least.

Sound Scheme changes not remembered
I've unticked the 'Play Windows Startup Sound' and selected the 'no sounds' from the drop down box, but these are not remembered on next boot up. I also tried deleting all of the files in Windows Media folder, but the sound still sounds on boot up. This has been the same on 2 clean...

Disconnecting 2nd monitor never remembered or followed
I am having an annoying problem with my Windows 7 laptop. I am hoping someone here can help me fix it. I use an LCD monitor connected to the VGA port on my laptop. The monitor connects as a second monitor and works fine. No problems from that angle. However, whenever I disconnect the monitor...

User theme not remembered
My friend just bought a new Windows 7 computer (I think it's the Professional version) and there is some weird behaviour that I can't explain. When we signed in for the first time, it was the default Asus background and settings. We changed that to another theme. Also, we removed the auto-hide...

Run commands remembered ?
Is there any way to get the Run box to remember commands ? For instance msconfig, regedit. Each time the Run command box is opened all previous entries are gone and it's blank. Small thing maybe, but when I'm constantly fiddling it saves typing.
