I'm having a bit of an issue here... according to the AMD utility, my processor should be OK with virtualization (I have an Athlon 7750 BE). But the XP Mode installator says that my processor type doesn't support the installation package!

Help?

Thanks!

Hello Austral,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Have you enabled virtualization in the bios?

Hi Gary, thank you!

Yes, it was enabled by default.

I installed Sun VirtualBox but had to leave for work, so I think I'll give it a try in the afternoon.

Sometimes virtualisation options are labelled as VT so make sure those are enabled as well.

when you delete a file from a local physical drive right within XP Mode, where does the file go? I mean, I checked both W7's and XP's recycle bin, and it is in neither of both.

I just right-clicked and deleted a file within XP Mode and it went to the recycle bin.

Could be that you either held down right shift while deleting OR the file was too big for the bin and is automatically directly deleted.

was your file in the virtual HDD or on a physical "pretty for real" HDD?

If the application is running within XP Virtual-Mode then its sent to the XP recycle-bin.

XP is physically disconnected from your Windows 7 desktop and can't use anything thats there like applications, files, devices and etc.. thats on your machine that you have not installed/connected to your Virtual Machine yourself
