    that's the point, I deleted a file from a drive outside of XP's own. and it didn't go to any of the trash bins. well, but i'll put that thing aside... :P

    a few more questions...
    how can I uninstall XP Mode? will it be completely erased with no trace left behind?
    how could XP Mode compare to VirtualBox?

    You can uninstall using Add/Remove programs. I don't know how much goes away as far as settings, etc. But the bulk should be gone.
