I don't know...I've been sticking to Pidgin for years, only using Messenger if I need to webcam, which is not very often. I'm not fond of a single IM app per network. I use Pidgin for AIM, MSN, and GTALK.

Why all this integration to social networks with everything? I don't care what everyone of my friends is doing every second of the day.

Will I not be able to just forget about everyone and go read for a couple hours without being interrupted by a cell phone buzz or a status update about the new amazing shoes my friend got, or this new video on facebook he found?
    Who cares!

I barely even IM, I can just text people instead. Plus, texting is always online, they get it at some point or another.

I hope we can take all the crap off it and just have the friends list like there is now. Everyone's business model nowadays seems to be "Facebook is great, lets make that".

I suspect the "crap" wont be active until you sign in to the various social sites.

dont think so. Facebook provides API's for developers. so my guess is that WLM will be able to communicate with facebook without a user logging in facebook. and I guess it will be same for other SN sites. but w.e XD I love the new interface XD

Would rather not have the social networks on my IM.

    We're not alone :)

In a preview of this version about a month ago you could choose whether you wanted to focus on the 'social' or on messaging. WLM would then change your view to prioritise whichever you chose.

Facebook in my opinion is a healthy place for Identity theft ,spamming and for some governent to spy on you and collect details .
