maybe I'll download when it is available for public download and do a bit for bit comparison of the two iso's.

I doubt that any typical hacker could hide his / her work so well that both the hashes (CRC32, MD5, SHA1) AND the bit comparisons would agree 100% with the "Official download".

If they are THAT good I'm sure they would be working on "more productive and profitable" activities not necessarily legal either.

It's just that I've got my main machine running so nicely I really don't want to "undo and untangle" it all again.

    lol
you just dont know with humans though...
humans can do the most irrational things these days....
i doubt that any hacker can crack a SHA hash and masquerade a download without a giant amount of computer power (i dont even think the world's computers has such power to crack the algorithm in time... i mean it leaked a few days after it was compiled...)
anyways it would have made news on the secuirity front as this is unheard of (at least with SHA) to be able to masquerade such a download...

    That's what I thought.

At the current state of the art I doubt if all the entire planets computers together running for the rest of the lifetime of the Sun (approx 5 Billion years left although Earth will be totally uninhabitable for humans after approx 500 million years -- nothing to do with Human activity -- just the way the sun works --as it "consumes" its nuclear hydrogen converting to helium it gets over time slightly brighter, larger and hotter -- another topic however)
would be sufficient to crack the algorithm.

(Don't get me started on "Quantum Computers" however).

I might download the official RC after the initial feeding frenzy has died away but I'm more than happy at the moment.

    Cheers

Can somebody tell me why I can not remove the watermark?
I tried it two ways, but it is still here! In the build7000 it wasn't problem.
    Has something changed?

    I tried these:
    -"bcdedit.exe /set testsigning off"
    - RemoveWatermarkX86.exe
    none of them helped.

In all honesty, running a crack to remove the watermark is a bad idea. If it's worked before then you're just lucky, it can herald unpredictable results which could result in an unstable OS. Most of the time i would think that you use full screen apps so you don't notice the watermark.

If the ISO you got has the same hash values of the official RC then IT IS the "real" RC regardless of where you got it.

I don't recommend this to others as I don't know how good their computer skills are or how good their security is but....(as far as locating & downloading Plus Patch 9, lots of nasties out there!)

I used Orbit30's Plus Patch 9 final & it removed it with no problem & everything still works perfectly. I also installed DreamScene with it too.

Keep in mind I upgraded from build 7077 to RC 7100.
Not sure if that would have any effect on this or not.

Google "watermark removal script" theres two versions X86 X64.

Works on all versions and has no adverse effect.

Yeah, and Avast detected a virus at the first link I clicked; go ahead and Google it.

What does the watermark hurt being there, it doesn't bother me; I was just curious.
