"Jedi dont use IE8"
IE8 is the darkside
Source -The force is strong with Internet Explorer 8, now the most popular browser worldwide, and benefitting from the support of one of the most iconic characters in Star Wars, Yoda. Microsoft Spain has the Grand Master Jedi at the center of an initiative designed to help end users boost their protection against online-based attacks by utilizing IE8. Fact is that the combination of IE8 on operating systems such as Windows Vista and Windows 7, with User Account Control (UAC) enabled and the SmartScreen Filter will help customers stay secure from the risks lurking in the dark side of the Internet.
“My colleagues in Microsoft Spain have found a pretty creative way of talking about this with their new ‘Yoda’ campaign. Using the character from Star Wars, they have launched an online campaign designed to highlight staying safe online with Internet Explorer 8. Yoda represents the ‘bright side’ – or the Force - of the Internet that embodies Internet Explorer 8. Yoda (IE8) helps users stay away from the ‘Dark Side’ of the Internet by keeping them protected against identity theft, cross-site scripting attacks, phishing attempts, and malware,” Brandon LeBlanc, Windows communications manager on the Windows Client Communications Team, revealed.

Too slow

IE8 is a serious piece of **it. I keep it the system only because some things insist on opening w/it. And that is because of deals made w/ the EVIL EMPIRE= Microsuck.
Well isn't that an informed reply.... Perhaps you could tell us your reasons for this extreme hatred of IE8? Whilst not being a fan myself, I dont think its THAT bad, I just prefer Firefox, at least yowanvista actually gave some reasons, (all good reasons by the way) although I don't agree with the "worst browser ever made" comment, that title, IMO falls to AOL's IE6 based browser.... so buggy it could probably drive across the prarie pulled by oxen
People don't have to be political correct all the time and they have to have informed replies ready all the time. If one is informed one would easily understand the emotions IE evokes. If people say IE sucks, than obvious compared to the mainstream and current browsers.
I actually kind of like IE8 - it doesn't have as many security vulnerabilities as its predecessors, 6 & 7, and it works fairly well. I'm still a diehard FireFox user, but IE8 has replaced Chrome as my secondary browser.
I think IE8 is the BEST browser, and in my opinion it is the safest as well. It has been my main browser since it came out and i have NEVER had a major issue with it. The only time iv ended up with a virus is while using Chrome.
