    Hello Kings,

The 7106 version is a hacked modified version from some 3rd party source other than Microsoft. You would want to install the Windows 7 RC (build 7100) version instead from the link on the first post of this thread to have the official version directly from Microsoft instead. :)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
honestly at this point downloading anything but this RC 7100 is very unwise

There may be some newer test builds before final
    I would not use them
There may or may not be a RC 2
    But wait for that

Release of final retail is oct 09

There will no RC2. That has been confirmed many times.

Nice! And it doesn't expire until June 1, 2010 (although, at the beginning of March 2010, it shuts down every 2 hours...).

Would anyone recommend upgrading from vista over a clean install?
I just installed Vista Biz x64 a few weeks ago and really don't feel like doing a clean install if I don't have to.

I have downloaded the 32 bit version (thanks for the links!) and have burnt it to a DVD.

Everything runs smoothly and the install is looking good, but then I get a message:-

"Windows cannot install required... blah blah...
    Error code: 0x80070017"

I have tried to install it three times and each time I'm met with the same error message.

    Any ideas?

I downloaded RC x64 late last night/early this morning. Just waiting for some time to install it and my programs.

I can only imagine how slow the downloads are during the day. Probably send the servers down.

Clean install. I stuck in a new Seagate hard drive (blank) and hit go. It was all going so well and then it stopped
