Windows Live Hotmail and the iPad Fail to Play Nice Together

Microsoft and Apple are hard at work on resolving issues that prevent Windows Live Hotmail and the iPad from playing nice together. Mike Schackwitz, program manager, Windows Live Hotmail team, confirmed that the Redmond company was well aware of problems reported by end users. Customers that have recently acquired an Apple iPad have experienced difficulties running Windows Live Hotmail under normal conditions. According to input delivered to Microsoft, it appears that users have not been able to write new messages or reply to emails in their Windows Live Hotmail inboxes from iPad devices.

“Unfortunately, we’ve seen some issues with using Hotmail on the new Apple iPad. Specifically, composing and replying to an email is not working for some of our users,” Schackwitz explained. Up to this point in time, Microsoft has not offered any specific details related to the issues experienced by some customers. “Rest assured that we’re working with Apple to understand the issues, and we’ll fix them as quickly as possible.”

At least they are working fix an issue instead of fighting each other over the problem.

So what did Apple try during their testing - just iTunes?

I wasn't aware you could use iTunes to check Hotmail.

This doesn't surprize me at all. Apples bonjour service which installs with itunes has been destroying Windows 7 networks for a long time now also but that isn't enough for apple to fix the problem. Quick time is another example of Apples attempt to take over your entire system by changing all the default player settings to work with Quicktime and not WMP. I have a feeling that Steve Jobs knows exactly what these problems are, in fact I'm pretty sure he designed it that way on purpose. Corporate espionage at it's finest. :)
