    Hi there
Ignoring such factors on what is also concurrently running on these machines at the time measuring response from Torrents is a "Moving" target even if you are downloading the same files.

This will be HIGHLY dependent on

    1) The load on your OWN ISP at the time
    2) Number of peers
    3) number of seeds
    4) speed of trackers upload and download.

None of these variables are likely to be constant at different times - even if you were to run this on two machines at the same time on your network -- how does the router for example "slice external requests" from your network.

There's far too many variables here to even begin to suggest how you should measure this stuff.

    Cheers

    oh god no jimbo...
just imagening how many routes it took and how many routers where some packets can come in before ones that were created earlier...

speedtest maybe but then there is still that threshold value...:)

Is this a Publicity stunt for the WorldBench 6 suite?

Benchtesting is completely reliant on the code the application uses to generate then calculate the results...I dont think one benchtest result from one application is really useful for obtaining a real result or even an approximate result

I agree. Windows 7 is nice. You can install it, pet it, caress it, care for it, love it, talk to it, tell it that it's very fast and efficient and tell it that's it's special.

They both feel about the same speed to me, when I use them.

    Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and I already had Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit. It really seems to me that they run almost the same...sometimes Vista even runs faster. The WEI has me a little confused that when I rate my pc on vista it is a 3.8(due to integrated graphics), but on 7 it is rated at 4.9(for once again the graphics). I know that the range changed from 1-5.9 to 1-7.9 but when you do the math the percentage increase is off by about 5-7 percent on all of the ratings. I think that I might still stick with Vista and wait for the release of SP2 for an update and really find out how much of a perfomance Windows 7(Vista "Lite") does in comparison to Windows Vista.

Im not dissing Windows 7 or anything but from my tests of it...it still has some improvents and Vista is progressing better and better.

    Win 7 over Vista

Was missed on being allowed to Officially TEST Windows 7. but have been a Beta Tester since Win95, and to me Win7 7106 is much better than Vista (SP2). Vista for my part has very few problems... all considered minor, and are related to some 3rd party programs.
Every program which I find Vista has problems with, Win 7 functions 100% flawlessly.
Speed can be seen with the naked eye as being much faster....
Both HD's are rated the same, both systems have the same programs loaded, (except the email).
    cold start Vista - 2m04s
    cold start Win7 - 1m55s
    shutdown Vista - 20s
    shutdown Win7 - 13s
Each to their own on preference.

OK, I don't know, but comparing Vista Home Premium with W7 b7000, the last one is about 5 seconds faster! (on logon, using the system is really faster than Vista!!) =)
