Microsoft Security Essentials Finds New Malware But Avoids False Posit
-
i stand by my first statement its a bug in microsoft essentials
Is it not possible for it to be a bug in both MSE AND the counterfeit dection code Microsoft uses? Those friends I mentioned earlier in this thread that had the 'your copy of Windows may not be geniune' error (They purchased their copy from the online MS store) were not using MSE. One was using Norton and another was using AVG.

Well after a lot of testing, I removed MSE. It causes CPU spikes and takes up alot of RAM.

Were you using the public version or the ongoing beta version? I haven't had any problems with the ongoing beta version.

I m already a member at ms connect. So Im downloading the beta now. But the date of the build is 10/22/09 and the build version is 1.0.1676.0. Is this correct?

They never update the downloadable build, but there are updates for it after installing it (upgrade it via Help). Its a few builds ahead of the public version.
Current Ongoing Beta Build Number: 1.0.1963.0
