is there a limit in the number of times a user can activate his copy of se7en?
Unless MS removes the ability to -Rearm, you should be able to
    1. activate with Key for approx 1 yr.
    2. just prior to the expire date, remove the Key. DO NOT REBOOT
    3. -Rearm and obtain additional 30 days - normally you can do this 3 times. That gives you an additional 90 days.
    4. You then need to reset the -rearm code to 0 that gives you another 30 days. total now of 120 days.
    5. Just prior to the end of the last rearm. (usually MS will deactivate by now).
    6. If not deactivated. reset by changing to a NEW KEY.
how much time is hard to tell, until it happens... (Vista received an extra 90 days.) Win7 will probably go into 2hrs shutdown mode.

    7. Obtain a good OEM-Retail Key... most Retail Keys are good for - from 1000 to 10000 activations. and that equals unlimited days of use.

Maybe MS could give beta testers (and i mean all of us that have downloaded the Beta and RC, not just the "official" testers) a discount. Seeing as we are already putting time and effort in to helping make it a better OS.
    Just a thought.

    Dave.
Everyone here would most definetly love that, but the chances of that are about the same as everyone here winning the lottery tomorrow.

I'm interested to see how HP (my computers manufactuar) will handle it, as I remember them saying to me once that any computer thats within warranty will get a free copy of Windows 7 relating to the copy of Vista you had (Home Premium Vista users get Home Premium 7, etc).

Doubt they will do that though, not much profit in that. :P

I think they should lower the price a little which might help stop piracy.
The only reason I upgraded to Vista was because I got an OEM home premium from Amazon for £63 in a sale! No way I was going to or able pay the full retail price and no way would I use a pirated copy.
If they priced the OS at a slightly more affordable level they might see more people take it up and would also help cut down on some piracy.

You have near 10 months free trial use with this OS (meaning RC 7100, not any of the other leaks that you've downloaded and use) ... If you are able to send "feedback" on this build, then do so!

Contribute your valid observations and problems with this RC Beta to the final OS build.
Cost will be what it will be. We can't control that end of the spectrum. We can always ask, tho'

They've spent decades profiting from the theft of other OS's features and are now putting those profits into paying their (under-paid over-worked) programmers to work on more second hand ideas.

    'They' don't deserve a cent.
