I like the image sharing feature in Windows Live Messenger where you can quickly search for an image and quickly share it in the convo.
You can do the same with video as well. Rather neat.

i hate this new beta, there's no block feature, i can't chat to someone while appearing off9. It's so messy. Hope microsoft won't force us to install this when it's due for official release.
The closest you can do is appear offline which isnt satisfactory imo.

That's the way it is now with the present WL messenger with the option to appear offline, away, busy, or available.

For the annoyance of messenger wanting to connect as well as the today screen that pops up you cilck to the menu bar and bring down the Tools>Options and click on the sign in item in the list seen on the next screen where the catagories are seen. Notice the auto login when Windows starts as well as the "Allow automatic sign in when connected to the internet" boxes can be unchecked there.

When going to any Live site however the messenger first screen to sign in will automatically appear regardless if you sign in or not. That's how WLM works. The one advantage of grouped icons on the taskbar if you have it pinned there is the right click/close all windows option to close out WLM all at once.

I didn't care for the layout on the beta seen there at all. Despite seeing two other softwares trashed for some still undeterminced cause the beta was run briefly until reverting back.

Sometimes messenger or mail fail to start when I click the icon and when I look in task manager there will be multiple instances of it running. I have to individually click each instance and end process before I can click the icon and actually get them to start again. Its bloody annoying!

If all three are grouped having it pinned on the taskbar you can simply right click on the icon and select the last item at the bottom being "close all windows". When you select everything with messenger closes out.

When they degrouped however you end up clicking on each one with the first two being stubborn or bring up the taskmanager to settle that fast!
