Windows XP: The Microsoft OS That Just Won't Die

Hi Da
No I'm sure it was chocolate
Mmmmmmmmm
As for Dell they haven't been so successful in the business by ignoring a business opportunity
mY fAvOrITE....lol
yes and i agree but this can also mean to any OEM company...
hp has it so that you have to cough up for vista business or Ultimate (which i believe was 150 more than home premium)
so this is nothing new...
at least for hp you get the option for getting two OS's(you just have to be eligible...lol
the little fine print..lol)

My first computer was a Dell. Back in 95. Had played with them before that, but never owned one. Had to use support a couple times and they were very helpful and knowlegable. Now support is not so great. When a company builds itself on something and then drops the ball on that thing, they start the long slide to oblivion. Same as the US auto industry. Built on a reputation of solid dependability. Now I help more people with new rigs broken down on the side of the road than old ones. IMO they started living on the reputation they worked so hard to build while not bothering to meet that expectation and that's a big part of why Toyota is now #1. It's much harder and more expensive to get a good reputation back than to maintain it in the first place.

Dell is on a huge downward slide though with all their latest antics. Maybe if we are lucky they won't even be around by the time win7 comes out. I fully agree the $150 is them just being greedy and jamming their paws in places they don't belong!
HP all the way for laptops, and build your own desktops, damn it!
