Yeah I've ALWAYS thought that payig for support was a scam. It leads to crap products. Look at Oracle! Technically a great product at it's core but SO hard to use you were FORCED to buy support to make it work right.

It's currently the big revenue model of Open Source but what a crock. Software shoudln't NEED support and/or people producing it should stand by it and help out their customers for free! If something is broken or too hard to use then they have incentive to fix it.

In fact the places I've worked, reducing the load on support though improvement in product intutiveness and ease of use and documentation was a TOP priority! Why would any company do that if they derive their entire income from the need for people to be confused by or have a hard time using it?

Charging for support is BAD KARMA. Bad for users and bad for the product in the long run.

Couldn't have siad it better!! They make even finding an e-mail address a complete maze of crap. They can say it just works all they want, however their lack of customer service does not work. All it says to me is unless I continue to pour money into the company I am not a valued customer. It is only a matter of time till this practice bites them back.

    Geeve
