does anyone know why the original mse turned off the firewall, and the beta gives you the option to turn the firewall back on?
I'm not sure if it did or not. Some people say it did, some people say it didn't. My guess would be that it is just letting you know that you can control all of your security needs via MSE. After all a firewalll is essential.
I don't think MSE turned off the firewall. It does disable the windows defender that is installed with windows 7, it has it's own version (or equivalent to) built in.
This is a quote from a Microsoft e-mail I just recieved that might interest you.
