    Question about case cables

When you but a case, it comes with cables linking from the ports & the startup/shutdown button, but I don't know whether it will connect to my motherboard.

Are all the cables the same type?

Ok, but what types of cables are there? I just want to make sure it will fit in my motherboard.

Yes they will. All the USB, front panel audio (AC'97 or HD Audio, some cases will have both for compatibility of older board, etc all conform to the ATX standard. The power, reset, hard drive indicator, etc can be different in layout from different board manufacturer's but will still all connect in the same way,

Just check the manual to see which is which (should be labeled on the board, but may not be the easiest to read), and match them up with the connectors from the front.

Agree with Stormy. Sometimes you might need cable extensions or adapter cables, but these are accessories.

As said before, they will fit.

    Typically, those cables include:
    Power Button
    Power LED
    Hard Drive LED
    Reset Button
    Speaker
    USB Front Ports
    Audio Front Ports
    ESATA Front Port
    FireWire Front Port

The link shows some 2-pin ports. By the looks of it, most of mine are 4-pin. I'll just look on my motherboard and see what it says :)

Sorry, maybe there are 2-pin ports, just that the cables are stuck together

Is the motherboard the one in your specs or a different one. If different, what is the make and full model number of it?

As has been stated, motherboard connectors are standard, but their physical location may vary.

the cables habe been the same standard for YEARS the only differance now is instyead of having all the cables on seperate single wires with wee tiny plugs on em (what a pain in the rear they were) they are now mostly grouped to gether in the form of a plug , so now for example you dont have to study your mobo manual for three hours trying to figure out where the + _ 5v etc need to go , just to connect a front USB header
