    My Brand New HAF-X

    Hi all,

I've just bought myself a brand spanking new Coolermaster HAF-X, and have just finished transferring my system to it. Boy does this thing make my 22" LCD look puny.

However, I do have a couple of small problems and need the help of our cable management gurus:

    1. Could someone advise me on how to better manage my cabling? This was about the best I could come up with on my own. This is my first try at it, since all my previous cases were locals with no specific design criteria or optimisation.
    2. The Internal Air Duct is in place simply so that I don't have to store it separately, and hunt around for it later. However, it does not align with my 9600GT.

Forgive the quality of the pics, they were taken somewhat hurriedly, and I am far from a good photographer.

Number 1: Is that an eSATA connection going to the back of your case? Do you expect you will ever use it? If not, I'd rip that out in a heartbeat and get rid of that extra cabling

Number 2: Try to tuck in that cpu fan power cable behind the mobo if you can at the top of the motherboard.

Number 3: Anyway you can reroute that black cable from the middle of your case over the top, and bring it in under your video card and then bring the connector through a gap between the video card and the case at the back.

Number 4: What is that red cable coming out over your power supply at the bottom and out the back of your case?

Finally, perhaps wrap some black electrical tape around that braided and striped power supply leads to make it less noticeable and let the cables blend in more with the black in your case. This is kinda a mind trick....but it gives the appearance of cleaner cabling. The same applies to the power lead going to the top case fan too. If you can darken down the color, you won't see the cable.

I didn't use the fan shroud for the gpu in my HAF-X as one of my cards in my crossfire setup wasn't being cooled anyway. I'd try just removing it to see if your temps are still ok and just leave it out if you're not having heat issues... mine runs plenty cool with just the fan on the side cover blowing on them.

    Wiring

Ease up on yourself. It looks as good as mine or better. I did away with the fan shroud. My graphics card runs cool. (not a gamer with SLI) The Esata port from the back could be moved down on the case and the cabling will lie flat on the PS case.

i know :) its still nice i like my coolermaster storm scout case but i wish i had gone for a full tower , its just that there so big i thought it might look odd in the tiny room my wife lets me use

you wanna see the cable management at the back of my cooler master case , i practically had to sit on it to get the back to slide on ha ha but as they say , "what the eye cant see".........
