A little light reading on what to look for in a power supply,
Power Supply Information and Selection - Tech Support Forum
and another on why to avoid cheap power supplies,
The Bargain Basement Power Supply Roundup Review
Same here, works very well.
alright, thanks for the quick replies, sorry for my late reply. Just went out.
Fluffy: I never knew there was a way to manually control the fans in the actual ati program and stuff, thanks a lot for the info. but still the controller adds some bling
Technoman: I dont think ill be able to afford a ssd no matter how much i save as id rather just get a good graphics card and processor
ratman: of course the monitor and keyboard+mouse aren't in the $700 limit I might as well use pen and paper for all the power i would get out of a $400 computer
stormy13: thanks for that, ill be sure to read up
ive decided to switch to this psu and think it should definitely be adequate, i've read nothing but good reviews on this product, it runs quietly, is modular, looks amazing, is extremely sturdy and with the price I'm getting it for ($69.99) i think its the one
XFX P1-650X-CAG9 650W XXX Edition Modular Power Supply - ATX, 650-Watt, Modular, 80 Plus Bronze, 135mm Fan. "Hard-Core Gamer Compatible"
bump
is this psu any good?
i want to get my first build right
Yes, it is good. A 650 watt psu will be adequate for now, but in the future if you go into extra fans/water cooling or crossfire graphics cards then you will need more watts.
ok, thanks for the info, can you say anything about the other parts? All good or any improvements in mind?
If you think its all good and have nothing more to add, consider this post to be resolved
Thanks all for you help, ill check the page again later on but I think im ready to buy my parts now
Tigerdirect is VERY expensive for international orders. If you checked your shipping cost by going to your cart and typing in a post code, it will give you a domestic cost (in America), not the International Plane cost. You can try this by typing in any zip code in the box, 66, 666, 6666, 66666, 66666, they will all return similar results.
To get an accurate International shipping cost, you must first put everything in your cast, then go to proceed to checkout. Fill in billing information and shipping information and then a box below called shipping method will appear with the estimated shipping price. This is usually around $400-$500!
I was just looking around and finalizing my shopping item when i realized how crappy tigerdirect is for international shipping.
I assumed the cost shown was international cost, but i always was curious as to how they could do ground deliveries overseas . This prompted me to do some more research and i found that for my order of $1132 costs a whopping $600 for shipping!! I don't think I'll be buying from tigerdirect any time soon
So has anyone got any good online shops with low prices shipping costs to Australia?
Or any real shops with low prices in Perth
