ASUS P67 5.2Ghz on air

Apparently all of ASUS new boards have completly switched to UEFI instead of bios.
Looks pretty good from what Ive seen so far.

At any count, found this interesting:

The Maximus IV Extreme P67 the w/ 2600K.

Im actually thinking my next build will be the 2600K with the ASUS P8P67 Pro.
Whats everyone think about the P67 & Sandy Bridge?

I think Sandy Bridge looks like a decent upgrade from what I'm on at the moment. Gonna see how the funds are in maybe April, or something, and possibly upgrade then.

Im in the same boat and will likely upgrade in the next few months.

I was going to upgrade to a i930, but then decided I should wait a while since mine doing OK.

Hopefully by April or May for me as well.

A clanmate just upgraded to a similar setup with an i5 and reported very good results. I am definately impressed.

That's really impressive. If I were to build a system today I'd definitely get that 2600K, but since my i7-950 is less than a year old I think I'll stick with it for a while. That'll also allow me to see what Intel releases for the 1366 replacement.

Pricewise I can't see why you wouldn't get a P67 with a 2600K. Impressive system

Thanks for the posting of the video. Looks like a good upgrade to me. 5.2 on air WOW.
I will keep it in mind when I start looking for my parts.
The UEFI looks promising.
Thanks again Wishmaster

BTW, just as a contrast - Ultimate Sandy Bridge OC Guide + P67A-UD7 Performance Review - It also did 5+gig on air.

Just to point it out that overclock was done outside of a case. Might not be able to push it to 5.2 inside a case on air.

I noticed that as I was wondering what the temps were. Reviewers tend to leave that bit of information out. Still an impressive setup nonetheless.

Assuming I get this PSU issue worked out, I will see what my new i5-2500k can hit.
