    Overclocking Help Needed

    Hey guys and gals,

I want to overclock my PC which has the following spec, I took some screenshots for you to see. I'm not sure what software to use or how to do it without messing up my PC so if theres anyone who can give me a link to a tutorial for my PC that would be fantastic, also links to the software.

Thank you for any help you can provide, it's appreciated

    Hope someone can help me...?

    Thanks guys
    Wrams :)

For the video card if so inclined you can use something like EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner,

If you do just remember to take it slow and only increase things a little at a time, and taking the time to test after each change.

For the CPU you can forget about it seeing as you have a HP computer. HP locks/hides any and all options that would allow you to overclock.

+=1 on the MSI afterburner for the Nvidia card.

I also wrote a tutorial covering how to overclock with MSI afterburner. Though Stormy's link is very good, I also cover stability testing in mine, as well as cover a more gradual approach for figuring out what your target clock will be.

You might also want to join an overclocking specific forum for more detailed help with your system, you may find members with simular hardware that have settings you may want to try.
Just remember not every identical piece of hardware will preform the same.

Another program you'll eventually need to stress test your settings to insure they are stable is Prime95 |MG| Prime95 26.5 Build 5 Download

Thank you guys for the links and your help. I will be building a PC soon enough and working out whats best, I want to build something thats not to expensive but has awesome speed and looks like the dogs nuts :)

I've bookmarked all the links you guys have provided me and I shall have a good read through and see what I can do. I have a motherboard lying around here somewhere that I purchased about a year ago and when that PC went terribly wrong I removed all the essenital parts and stored them in the loft but which box I can't remember it's about time I looked I think.

If going to hardware thats reasonable what would you guys recommend and I'm in the UK so not all componants are out here yet.

Again thanks you for all your help

I think its funny how all the Americans find the saying "The Dogs Nuts" weird, I have alot of friends in the USA ranging from Florida to Washington State and down to LA and right back to New York and all of them laugh when I use the old English sayings, Dogs Nuts means awesome, means the best, means looks out of this world etc. Basically it means anything thats viewed as being fantastic.

If you Wiki it you will find definitions on "The Dogs Nuts" Or the other version is this, "The Dogs Bollox" which also means the same thing

I figured that's what it meant, but I thought of truck balls first
