You're not. AM3 CPU's can work in AM2/AM2+ motherboards bios allowing. AM2/AM2+ cannot work on AM3 boards due as you said to no DDR3 support.

Will throw one thing out about the motherboard, unless you're planning on running SLI I would go with an AMD based board over Nvidia if for no other reason than the AMD based board will continue to receive support for the foreseeable future. Have to remember that Nvidia is essentially out of the chipset business and anything out or available now is basically at end-of-life support.

Can I install Icon Packs designed for Build 7600 on to Build 7601?
Can I install Icon Packs designed for Build 7600 to Build 7601? An Icon Pack was saying install on to 7600 only and after I checked my regedit, I learned that I have 7601 (Probably SP1, I don't know). Would I have any problems if I install the icon pack? Thanks.
