I cannot believe that you guys with i7's want to upgrade. I've got a Q9550 and cannot justify upgrading that to a Sandy Bridge yet. I think about it from time to time, but then I use my Q9550 and realize that it's still unbelievably fast and chews up and spits out anything that i throw at it.
When you finally do upgrade to something like an i7, you'll be on here on about how fast that is.

I finally retired my 9550, and as I play mostly games on my PC my i7 is noticeably quicker, despite having the 9550 at 3.6GHz.

While I didn't have a q9550 to compare to my i7-950, my Q6600 gets left in the dust compared to my 950 @3.8GHz a core.

Yes, an i7 system is certainly something to behold

I too noticed an overall improvement in going from a Q9550 to an i7.

Why spend money on useful things when toys are more fun?

Hasn't the majority of your PC all been bought on impulse buys?
