Iam running a Intel D975XBX2 with QX6800 and 8GB memory. Bought the board on eBay for $45 in a auction new not used. Bought the QX6800 for $120 on eBay. Memory from Crucial out the nose. Got it OC running at 3.25G. Stable now for at least a year. Running the blue Intel fan. Works for me.

What board are you trying to replace?

The MSI 785g-E53 that you list is a full-sized ATX board (304 X 245 mm).

I suppose that you wish to upgrade more than just the motherboard. I'm not sure that there's a MB + CPU for less than $190 that'll be a significant upgarde over what you have.

    My goodness!
    1. Gaming-not hardcore
    2. no i am not upgrading my CPU.
    3.G.skill 1333mhz 4 Gb
    4. No upgrade to ram
    5. 1 internal (SATA) 1 external
    6. NO crossfire

P.S. I read somewhere that this motherboard has some stability option depending on the manufacturer. Thats why i need to buy a new one(a better one).
