I'm sure you could use your 9800, but with both boards if you install 2 graphics cards they will run X8X8. I don't know much about graphics cards and don't know how much difference that will really make. As far as your DVD and HDD, that should be no problem as long as they are sata.

Power phases: Much of a diff?
I'm almost set upon the Extreme6.
Not sure though. Still thinking and reading.

Ok, sorry to beat around the bush so friggin much
But for a gamer and occasional CS5 designer who needs this board to break as little as possible
I want speed, reliability, and coolness (temperature wise, don't care about looks) I want to be able to press the power button without having any fear (With my last PC I always was afraid to press the power switch.)
Which would be the better board?
I am at a loss. I know they are both great, but I want to be 100% sure because there can be no regrets.
I know they are both almost on par as to features, but which board is better suited towards what i want from it stated above?

No one knows.

Both brands have certain failure rates. Either could be DOA. Which is more likely to give you reliability issues is anybody's guess. Flip your favorite coin--at least on the reliability issue. You'll never be sure. Either could just quit working.

But you knew all of that.

I don't own the Sabertooth so I can't say anything about it. I have the extreme4 so I can tell you about that. As far as I am concerned it is steady as a rock. I've messed around with the settings in bios too much before and it would not load windows and would BSOD. But, from the first time I pushed the start button I have never done anything that will keep it from POST. As long as it will post you can get into bios and fix it. That's about all I can say. Everything works and there are no quirks in bios. Make your selection, just make sure you buy it from some place that has an excellent return policy. If you put it together and don't like it, you will have a month to return it. Besides, what are you gambling, $200 at the most? In building a computer $200 is not that much. You are going to spend more than that on your graphics card. But, I really don't think it will come to that. Just make a decision, order the board and don't look back.

If it would help you I could show you shots of the bios itself. But that would be like me pushing Asrock and I am not. I can't show you the Sabertooth, I don't have one. Just remember, everyone who has built a computer has gone through what you are going through right now. I just researched and made my decision and have never second guessed myself. Whatever you buy is what you will have and you just have to deal with what you get. Whatever you choose, there is no quarantee it won't be DOA or have some other problems. That is the chance we all take. And that is the best advice I know to give you or anyone.

Well put, both of you.
I will proceed with the decision.

Ignatzatsonic, I think you said pretty much what I said. You just did it shorter and better.

Shorter maybe. Not sure about better. I was referring to reliability only, not features, heat, speed, etc.

But I do understand the tendency to dither. At some point you just gotta pull a trigger or you will drive yourself crazy.

Can I install Icon Packs designed for Build 7600 on to Build 7601?
Can I install Icon Packs designed for Build 7600 to Build 7601? An Icon Pack was saying install on to 7600 only and after I checked my regedit, I learned that I have 7601 (Probably SP1, I don't know). Would I have any problems if I install the icon pack? Thanks.
