Well like everything else it depends - If it isn't in spec, the RAM is going to be unstable, especially if the RAM isn't a good overclocker.

    Anyway I have my RAM running at 8-8-8-20 1T stable even though it's spec'd at 8-8-8-24 2T.

not sure about ram timings-cpuz-memory-1.jpgnot sure about ram timings-cpuz-memory-2.jpg

Again, not all modules will be able to run past it's rated specs and remain stable.

It doesn't mean he can't try it overclock it. Again, you never know what you have until you try.

At any rate his problem is that he hasn't been able to get the RAM to run it full spec. And I would suggest fixing that first before overclocking (over specing) it.

    And BTW my RAM isn't exactly high performance - Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D Dominator 6 GB 3 x 2 GB PC3-12800 1600MHz

i just wanna get it to wot it should b

edit; if TRC is tRAS+tRP howcome it says it should b 41 if tRP=9 and tRAS=24? my math brings that to 33 lol. i can understand why peeps get pickled,

Sorry but I don't understand all the slang you're using.

Anyway I don't have all the answers but if you really want to learn about timings here's some info - Understanding RAM Timings | Hardware Secrets

ive just been lookin on the newegg site in the reviews and most r saying that it will run at spec'd timings but with a lower voltage of 1.54v instead of 1.65v. it would b better if it will run at the lower voltage wouldnt it

    CHEERS FOLKS MUCH APRECIATED

EDIT; good link about timings :)

It may increase the life-span of the module, but make sure that it is stable(run memtest86 overnight)
