I hope People jump in. I wanna finally focus on a higher/stable overclock and wanna see if 2 120's noctua would help out my temps. the ones i wanna put on my hyper 212 need to help cool, not just for silence.
I have on NF-P12 PWM on my Hyper 212+ and it is keeping the temps the same at 1275 RPM as the original (nosiy) Coolermaster fan at 1900+ RPM. If you ran it at it's max 1400 RPM, I'd assume a temp reduction. I have never seen where 2 fans on the Hyper 212 + made much difference. A Guy

Some may be aware. I replaced my case fans (3 120mm, 1 140mm) with Noctuas. That made the CPU fan seem noisy, so I replaced that with a Noctua PWM 120mm. Now I could hear the GPU fan which sounded like a hard drive always writing, very annoying ticking noise. In looking into replacing the fan, I came across the Accelero S1 Plus, which I had actually looked into before.

It soon became my 1st choice, and I ordered one. I have a 1GB DDR5 GT 240. I know, not a high end card, especially compared to what you all have, but I don't game, and only needed to play HD video at most. The 1GB DDR5 version is the best GT 240 they made.

I specifically chose this card for several reasons. It was the DDR5 version. It required no additional power connection, so is very efficient as far as power consumption. It has all the output types I needed (VGA, DVI, and HDMI), and it was on sale for $90, and there was a $30 rebate from MSI. Total ended up being $60.

This case (Antec 300 Illusion), doesn't have space behind the motherboard, nor many pass thrus, so the best wire management I could do was mostly bundling out of the way. The extra Noc adaptors added to the wiring, so that is the best I could do
That is VERY VERY cool, glad you got rid of the noise problem, In my honest opinion, I hate the brown colour of the fans, they stand out to much...but if they perform that good and are so silent, then I will have to look past the outside haha. Enyway,it looks AWESOME!!!

@A guy: Nice build, very neat.

I had the antec 300 before I got my 500r, its basically the same as the illusion, minus a few features, and the case served me extremely well. So well that I don't actually want to sell it on :P Just keep it as a kind of souvenir of my first ever custom build :P

I also have one of corsairs hyper 212 series cpu coolers, they are very nice coolers, and its cool to see someone else using one :).

I wish my computer could be completely silent ha ha, however I also want LEDs, and I dont want them in orange. If only noctua made their fans in a more appealing colour, then I could live without LEDs :P

I'll jump in and say that my very first system upgrade on my 1st, 2nd and now third personal build was the addition and transfer of Noc. fans. I fell in love with blue led fans but I took a leap and bought 3 Noc's. After installed wide open I like A Guy had to make sure they were spinning. From that moment I was a convert of quality case fans, oh and I did place a call to Noctua and praised their product and pleaded for a alternate color option. The response was hysterical......so now I say "Viva la difference" go beige and be proud ! Currently running (5) with plans to buy (2) more.Show Us Your Rig [3]-hpim1472.jpg

    OCIR,
Great job on a first build. It looks like you're a quick study as the spec's and attention to detail is most high ! Keep us informed on any updates.

I have seen nocs painted before:

I understand that the paint can throw the fans off balance slightly but I believe if you use the right spray paint, spray from far away, and give them only 1 coat it should be fine.

That looks worse, than the original colors.

You'll never notice the poor spray job once spinning. For me with my huge full tower case on the ground it has no impact what color a fan is, performance rules. Now when I ever build my tri-crossfired, dual rad. all water cooled monster with a full side window and set it out for full display next to my (5) 24" portrait monitors then I'll consider what color my fans are. I love it when I see the color coordination in everyone else's systems. But for me a clean tiddy layout only is appreciated when I open the case to clean it and or add/upgrade a component.

Yeah but tbh I wouldn't be so fussed with them. Sure nocs look awsome by themselves, but in a case..they just dont fit in with the rest of the build, when you are going for a colourscheme.
