    Yep with the heat pumping high 90's to low 100's here I've had to back my 4.7 OC down to a paltry 4.6 ghz.

    Alan, I wish you lived closer too. We could build a nice rig together couldn't we? That would really be fun. We could have a rig building party and invite several others. It might take us a while to finish though. But, it would be great.

    Its winter here now, so my room temps at the moment is 4defrees C ,so I am hoping to reach the 5ghz, but like I said its getting very tricky. Got any tips of the trade?

    I'm afraid my AMD and your Intel share very little in terms of how they OC is my guess. I just figured that once I allowed for voltage droop and kept bumping voltage up, things improved on their own.

    Yeah,but isnt intel cpu overclocking basically the same on all platforms,appart from heat?

    No. The 2011 has an extra multiplier, I've read. No such thing as that on Sandy or Ivy. I have just Bclck and multipier. I think you have an extra multiplier.

    Will play around some more with the more advanced settings, but will do that maybe tommorow, for now I have it running very steady at 4.75Ghz. So will leave it for now
