Steve you're going to have a blast learning to plumb this new rig up. You planning on CPU and GPU water cooling together?
The motherboard has an 8 pin and a 4 pin ATX connections. Bummer. I intend to only cool the CPU. At least for now. The GPU does not need it. It's idling at 31 right now. I haven't put it under stress, but the last 670 I had only reached 63 running Mard 3D 11 and Heaven. Alan, you may call it a blast, I hope you were being sarcastic. I may have to break the dremmel out. I hope to install the cooling in the case, test it, then put in the motherboard. This bay reservoir is causing much grief. I don't think your CPU will ever get above ambient with that rad ! The reservoir is problematic as in needing mods to slide into the case?
No mods needed to slide into the case, Alan, but it takes 2 5.25 bays, you would need to leave the bay above empty to get to it, and the bay above that has a fan in it from the rad. Now, that's a problem when you have only 4 bays. I don't use it much but you do need a DVD/CD player. Of course you cluld do several workarounds, but they require a lot of work for normal usage. I want one of the watercooling experts here ( Joey, I'm calling you) to tell me why I can't place the reservoir someplace else inside the case.
EDIT: Now that I am talking about the problem, I may have thought of a way to do it. But I would just rather place it somewhere else if that would be acceptable and wise. It may cause problems with how the wiring is run, but as usual, resolving one problem creates another.
