Individually purchasable tooless hard drive bays?

I am looking at getting a bitfenix shinobi in the near future. One of my only complaints with the case is the hard drive mounting rack. I was wondering if it would be possible for one to purchase one of those side facing tooless HDD bays that we see in so many cases today. I would drill out the rivets and detach the Shinobis HDD mounting system, then assuming this is possible re attach a new HDD bay at the bottom of the case, accommodating 3-4 HDDs, depending on the bay I get.

    Thanks

I have something like this mounted in front for both 2.5 and 3.5 and it's great, it could also be made to mount sideways?

That's given me a few ideas, unfortunately they are all 5.25" conversion kits, and I need all 3 of the ones that come with my shinobi. They are also quite costly. However, I can see how in could hunt around for a decent but cheap 5.25" conversion kit and modify that a bit to work as a normal hard drive bay. Thanks :)

It seems that the cages may be brand specific, have you checked with bitfenix? I'm looking at your case and don't understand why a tool-less design would even be an advantage? Are you looking for hot swap, or for more room for a big card?

It's more personal taste and something to experiment with. I have always liked the cases with those sliding tooless bays, and the Shinobis HDD rack looks a little "budget", I'd just rather something a little more...solid looking. It's not completely necessary, just something I would like to look into.

Got it, I would use what you have and save for that 80mm cooled 4 bay hot swap unit from Tt. Pricey but it includes a back plane and is engineered crazy nice !
