I use screw drivers that have a slide at the handle the works split blades that get thicker and thinner when you move it. Make them thin and insert in screw, move slider and it gets thicker and holds the screw. Very nice job blending old and new and getting it to work.

    Houston we have a problem!

Tried a last few adjustments this pm since posting like tidying up the wiring and changing the CPU to a 4800 for the extra speed and cache.

But - the CPU will not work if the lock down bar is put into the locked position so am going to try and just fit the cooler unit as the machine starts if I hold down the CPU with the bar depressed. Cannot see any bent or deformed pins and the original Sempron works ok and so did the 4600 but even it will not now unless I do the same as for the 4800. Seems like the lock down moves the pins just that tiny bit to break contact.

Problem solved a dud second hand CPU no way of telling until this I suppose - all well and machine off again:)

Nice rig John. I can't see the PCIe slot to see what it is.
    This might help: http://www.playtool.com/pages/vidslots/slots.html

The card appears to be a PCIe-X16 card.

John. Nice rig. Maybe this will help identify the pcie slots for you. Just match up the pins on the bottom of the card to the right slot type.

THanks Gary and essenbe (is that S&B? - initials?) yeah it's the PCI express s in the essenbe pic and the sixth in line in yours Gary.

It's the biggish Asus - the others are the other slot config and I have loads of them - just the Asus that will fit "Franky"
(The other cards sit too far away from the back panel and overhang the slot)

Anxious to see your pics too Nick.

PS Click the bar to see full image, then right click the resulting image and save it somewhere. Reupload it and it should be full size.
