That's nice and cool jeepman! It's odd that your IBT performance isn't higher. I get 58 GFlops on my i5 760 @ 4GHz.

Just my opinion, but unless you are going full blown water cooling, I would stick with the Noctua. My experience indicates there's not much better air cooler. If you look at Frosty tech and dig down into the numbers, there's not 2 degrees difference in the top 5, but there is a difference in noise. Mine has no resistors on it and you can barely hear it. But, it is huge. You better have a big case and ram that will fit under it. From recollection there is 44mm space for the ram, but the fan can be moved up. My Ripjaws barely fit, but they will clear it. BTW, when I say big, it covers all 4 dimm slots on my board. But, a very easy install.

i have a nzxt phantom so space is NOT an issue believe me. i have WWWAAAYYYYY too much space, im getting to the point where i am tactfully showing wires with covers to fill the space. i have plans to buy rip jaws aswell so if you are saying the noctua will barily fit, i can place it vertically if necessary. people have told me noctuas are significantely quieter than other fans, despite there massive increas in power, is this true?

Very quiet for 2 fans running at 100% (mine is anyway) Noctua fans are notoriously quiet and efficient. They are pretty expensive but also come with a 5 year warranty. My GPU is louder than the cooler. The NH-C14 is very good also, just configured differently. If you are running a stock cooler now, you will be surprised.

Not counting my stock CM 200mm intake and blow hole fans, the the bottom intake, CPU cooler, and rear exhaust are all Noctuas, and I can barely hear my PC running. Probably wouldn't if the chipset fan wasn't as loud as it is. I'm using Patriot PGS34g1600LLKA RAM, which isn't short, since they have heatsinks on them, and though there isn't much room to spare, there is enough. However, I have to orient the fans to blow front to back, since the RAM prevents it from being vertically set.

Read my specs and you will see the fans I believe in. They are ugly and cost more but work great and do it quietly.

Ugly is in the eyes of the beholder. I'm not a fan of the colors either, but they do stand out. And anyone who knows hardware can look at the fans and know exactly what the are. You know, when you see a Rolls Royce driving down the street, it looks really different than all the other cars. But, you know what it is and recognize it's quality.

Good for you. You will be pleased with them, and a lot quieter too.
