I notice you are running AMD. Just to get a idea of what the major chip maker, Intel thinks of water cooling take a look here. It didn't use to be this way.

It's not as scary as it use to be with these completely inclosed systems.

How times have changed. Intel offers insurance for overclocking and they also offer water cooling systems.

Well I can tell you my recommendation for the CM Hyper 610 - don't waste your money - get the 212+.

First the 612 is about twice as big as the 212+, but I see no gain in cooling over the 212, though my thermal compound hasn't cured yet. They claim that with fins that are farther apart, you get better airflow and idle temps. I think it is twice as big but not twice the surface area so it is just an excuse for less for more.

Second it is a major PITA to install compared to the 212+. With the 212+ you install the back plate to 4 anchors on the processor side. Then you screw the heatsink into the anchors -it is real simple and you. With the 612, you have to attach the backplate with the screws on the heatssink - there are no processor side anchors. This means that with one hand on the heatsink, you have ot poistion it and guide its screws through the holes in the motherboard, all the while holding that in place and trying to keep the screws protruding through the holes. Then, with the other hand, hang the back plate on the protruding screws, pick up the nuts and hope the plate doesn't fall off, and then start the nuts. And the nuts, though standard outer size, have a non-standard size thread. Don't loose one!

So a big thumbs down on the 612. Still a big thumbs up for the 212+

Oh, I would go with the Noctura but that didn't fit in with the price constraint in your initial post.

oh ya, i gotya, thank you for thinking of that, but i can spare the extra 20-30 over another little while for that much extra cooling.

I use an H70 and it works well for what I need as of now, but I might move up to a H100 if I start pushing my OC again (4.8+ gets a bit hot).

I run at 4.5ghz 24/7 and my temps have been good at that for the last year or so with this build.
