Inexperienced with overclocking, could use some help OC'ing ATI 4850.

    Wow, 100. that's just frightening. Yeah its a 24'' pure, but if i go into control panel, the max the slider will go to is 1680x1050. Same thing if i try to go through the Catalyst control center.

    Yes, it was but the manufacture assures that it's acceptable. As a user i was unhappy to see such a temp, so I made my mind to buy an aftermarket cooler.

    Btw, how come that 24" monitor has max res. 1680x1050, it should be 1920x1200. Have you changed the default refresh rate, which is 60, to higher one? if yes, try turn it down to default / 60, then let's see whether higher res. available.
