I think my dad have one, could you maybe try to explain what I am suppose to look at if I try it with an Ohmeter, if they work are they suppose to give a short signal and then die out?, I am kinda bad at explaining since english is not my main language
No problem, if you connect an ohmmeter to the switch, you should get continuity or a beep when you move the switch to on, and nothing when it's off since the circuit will be open.

So to check yours just touch the leads to each terminal, if you don't get a beep it is in the normally open position, by moving the toggle to the other position you should get a beep or low resistance until you let go of it. (It wont die out it will stop pretty abruptly)

If that is what you get when checking then your switch is working.

Like I mentioned above when pointing to that other article, you probably want to follow the way the switch is wired. On your switches, what terminal is the bottom one in the picture I reposted of yours?

Hmm not sure what you mean with terminal but my guess is what direction its pointing or the metal flicks, the switches are at default at 3, and need to be pushed to 1, hopefully this is what you meant

Sorry I wasn't more clear but that is what I meant, you answered my question.

So if you connect the blue to 3 and the white to 1 you will be doing the same as the one in the article.

I would still make sure your switches are working correctly before hooking them up.

Velleman DVM830 Digital Multimeter with Transistor Test Velleman DVM830 DVM 830 DVM-830
Yes, that would work. Did you notice it was discontinued?

It now links to this, which would also work. Actually a little better too, it has a continuity buzzer, the one in your link didn't.

Velleman DVM850BL Digital Multimeter with Backlight Velleman DVM850BL DVM 850BL DVM-850BL

Are you getting it somewhere else? It says it's only $17.90 but all orders need to be a $50.00 minimum.

I found a shop here in Sweden that sells the 830, but was not sure if I should link that site since it was all in Swedish so found a different site that was in english ^^, But I will see if the shop have that one since they don't really seem to be that expensive and it can always be good to have one

Edit#1 The same shop that was selling the older version also have the newer one that you linked and it was not that much more expensive so I will grab that one instead

Good man, smart thinking there. You're right it is always good to have one.

So I thank all for the help I have gotten and I will go pick one up when I have the opportunity since there is no rush mainly also because I am not sure where I want the switches yet, and will mark this thread as solved. And then later on if the switches work as intended I will upload another picture in the "show your rig" thread
