You should get lower than 55C at stock settings. If you overclock then it will get hotter, with EIST (same as coolnquiet) it will run at lower voltage/frequency when not running demanding programs. When rendering or gaming it will run at higher voltage/frequency and it will be hotter.

Mine runs at 55C at 3.84GHz with Prime95, the 3770k should run above 4GHz at 60-65C, which is a good temp for Intel CPU.

ik than, so ocing upwards of 4ghz is where the need for the aftermarket cooler comes in (loving the one i just bought). i could potentially go to 4.1, 4.2, havnt seen how high people go with them yet, with prety good temps with my AM cooler
