It's pretty impressive I must say.

Part of it could have been a poor application with the old paste and the improvement could simply be a combo of good paste application of great TIM.

Either way idle temps are lower and so are load temps and that's all that counts I guess

At any rate, I'm an IC Diamond convert

Nice job Gary. I thought you had 1866 memory. That's running at 1866 but cpuz says it is 1600. If you have 1600 runing at 1866, that really is a good job.

Yeah, it is 1866 running at 1840, CPUz is stupid in the Max Bandwidth figure.

CPUZ memory tab has it running at 940MHz (1880MHz), it reads the actual RAM frequency.

The CPUZ SPD tab is the information added to the RAM by the manufacturer, it's the tested JEDEC standard, this info is there so the motherboard can read it and set the timings and frequency automatically.
This was put there by the manufacturer, it's common for them to have these lower settings, even if they have a larger number printed on the package.
Doesn't make much sense but, it's what they do on a regular basis.

Nice specs, hope this one runs for you.

Looks like I'll have to start over again. Remind me not to buy ASrock again.

I will chalk it up to the more paste you apply, the better you get at it.

Otherwise I would have to buy some and open up my case and apply new TIM yet again *argggh*.

I really have no ambition to open my case and re install the cooler, but if it will improve my temps, I'll do it. My IC Diamond is in the mail. It will also give me an opportunity to reconfigure my cooler installation. Then if I get a good improvement, I won't know which is responsible, and won't really care.
