Not only old chipsets. I bought an ASRock 990FX Fata1ity Pro board last Novemeber from Newegg, exchanged it for another, and have RMA-ed it 3 times now to ASRock. Og course it is my hardware at fault according to "John" from ASRock. Odd the same symptoms on all 4 different boards.
It may be AMD's new 990FX chip set but they aren't saying anything and ASRock won't honor its warranty since "it's my hardware" and they check each board for defects before it is returned. I keep getting someone else's bad board.
Four boards in total.

thanks for checking on that. ive got to phone em first to arrange things further. in the note i sent them i just played on the fact that ebuyer/gigabyte deliberately sold it under false pretences and that the only outcome id be happy with is the board being replaced with one that is fully supported by the bd cpu's. we will see what happens enit. i rma'd a faulty set of roccat kaves a while ago n it took em over a wk for the refund.
only time will tell aye.

no battlefield for toooo long
thanks for ur help all

If you get a turn around in a week, consider your self extremely fortunate. It is normally 3-5 weeks at least. And don't expect a refund.

Also, if the board was purchased less than 30 days ago, you can do it through ebuyer probably and have a much easier and faster time.

Here is an overclock I did earlier, I think coretemp was having a bit of a mad moment as there is no way the CPU was using 480 Watts

Temps are a bit high, but at 5.1ghz on air under IBT they are not bad.
