That's pretty damn impressive for an x4 slot

Just dropped in my 3770K and gave it a quick IBT run:
Temps are so-so and the giga flops speed has dropped (due to HT I think. HT also added ~10ns to my RAM speed, but check out out those volts
I think I've go some headroom here.
Time to see what I can wring out this chip
EDIT:
Turns out not much - can't even boot @ 4.7 >
That was a quick wall to find

Patrick for awhile I couldn't boot at 4.5 so I tried 4.6 and 4.8 and 5.0 and it booted. 5.0 was too hot and unstable though. I have read the i7 IVB isn't a great overclocker but that's a good start there mate, nice Vcore too.
I managed to finally get it to boot at 4.8 but that was about it.
I'm currently concentrating on 4.6ghz - priming now with a +100 offset, yet the vcore is still only spiking at 1.2. This chip wants to fight So far it's not as 'friendly' as my 2500k was.
yeah, these ivy chips definitely aren't as good overclockers - but at least a lower ivy clock is equivalent to a slightly higher Sandy clock. HT also adds a little spice to the processes too.
Even if 4.6ghz is the best I can do, it's still roughly equivalent to the 4.8Ghz I was running my 2500K at. Plenty of grunt to run my incoming 670's :)
^^Good stuff.
(I suspect my low vcore is because of massive vdroop. (I'm not using LLC atm) )
Good one Michael.
Patrick have you used the extreme setting and AI XMP settings? There is a new BIOS too.
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3
I really wanna push it higher and I've had some luck with 4.7 but the temps were far too high with Prime.
I'm talking upper 90's hot. On water.
I'm thinking about adding a 120mm radiator to accompany the 360 I already have. I'd go for a thicker 360 but I won't be able to fit it anywhere... at least I don't think.
Yeah, thanks mate - I updated to 3304 only the other day :)
I'm using the x.m.p and I'm testing High (%50 LLC) atm. vcore is up to 1.28.
I had issues with LLC enabled with my 2500K which is why I left it at regular. but new chip and BIOS = new approach.
I'm also aiming for 4.7 now with a +.115 offset. So far i'm IBT stable, but appcrashing in prime95. Both crashes occurred during the 896K section. Since it's an app crash and not a freeze/bsod - it should mean I'm 'close' to the vcore area.
Damn P95 is boring to watch
have you tried 4.7ghz and checked 'real world' temps?
