I managed to get Win 7 to post and boot at 4Ghz however with 1.55v VCore the overclock was too unstable to survive my choice of P95(x64) and AOD running simultaneously.
It survives this test procedure at 3.8Ghz with no errors after 1hour of stressing.
5870 clocked over 1Ghz after editing the .cfg file for MSI Afterburner (so glad I diodn't have to flash the BIOS on the card)
All clocks now returned back to stock as the x4 940 and 5870 are powerful enough for what I need at stock and I have no need to push them further but it's nice to know how far they can go.
The 5870 still had more to go when I finished testing but the last successful run was 1000/1300
this is the best i could do, while keeping the system stable. My motherboard will only allow me to raise the vcore 150mv so im limited there. My system temps while idle are 36c it goes up to 51c-55c on full load. I just mounted the v8 with arctic mx-3 thermal compound. hopping the temps will come down a bit after it coures.
Have you done an AMD Overdrive stability test on this overclock as my 9950 was unstable at 3.0Ghz when I had it. It survived 8hrs of Prime95 however errored after 5-10 mins of AOD.
Might be worth looking at if you haven't already.
The 9950 is a very power hungry core with the Phenom I's being a flawed design.
So happy AMD seem to have repaired those flaws in the Phenom II's though.
I just ran the AMD overdrive stability test for an hour, the TMPIN1 temp maxed out at 51C and the 4 cores where at 47c.Ive been running it at these settings for the last week with no BSOD or anything.Did you want me to send you my settings so you can try them on your setup ????
Thank you very much for the offer Tremaine and if I was still running a 9950 I would do however as I posted just before your original screenie. I am currently running a PhenomII x4 940 setup which I managed to clock up to 4GB however it has not been brought back down to stock as 3.0Ghz is plenty enough for me atm I just like seeing how far my hardware can go.

I take my i7860 to 3.99Ghz but still can't get a 9 second Super Pi. I get a respectable 10 second score.

Thanks Skunk, for some reason I just think I can do it in 9. I will keep trying.....maybe one day I'll get there. I did another test at 4.09Ghz right after that one:

But still didn't get it. I wonder what it would take my 860 to do 9 seconds....
