A quick OC

I am in the middle of reviewing the new P6X58-E Pro board for ASUS. Yea, I hear ya; its old school with Sandy Bridge here now but ASUS is thinking of those who have invested in the Extreme i7 chips like the 980X and the 990X and this new board has some nice features to help with OC'ing.

Here is a quick OC using the included A1 suite on this board.

I like to use AID64 for stress testing, the folks there have setup the program to stress test the CPU under more real world use.

Using a swiftech H20-240 Edge WC setup for the CPU only and the temps are pretty nice for now.

Kipper, nice job. That's great. Good thing I looked at the explanation at the top. I was wondering how you got a 2600K to a bclock of 153. But that OC is good for any chip. Congratulations.

Thanks guys

You can never tell what I have going on from day to day; last week I had the 990FX board the Crosshair V Formula on the bench with an old 1100T processor cooled with the TT Firo big air cooler and could only get it to 4.2GHz. Am looking forward to getting hold of the BD and benching that setup again.

Here you go

This was done on Air, so I had to watch the temps and I have tortured this processor, I mean tortured it.

verified this OC after 7 hours of stressing.

If you care to look over the full review you will find it here:

Here is a 5GHz OC while I was reviewing the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme board. This was done on Air for the review; I have it under water now in an 800D Corsair case. Actually I am using it as I type this. LOL

Stressed it for a couple hours before I took these screens.

You can read my full review of this board here:

Even if I had a BD I wouldn't dare mention it nor show any benches with it or AMD would have to kill me. LOL So for now I will only talk about all things legal.

I'm reading it now. I thought you had tested the Bulldozer. Was I wrong? I haven't seen any reeal world benchmarking of it.
