Thanks Patrick, indeed I bumped the Vcore to 1.575 and its using 1.522 and I have it running at 4.2 GHZ, if now I can make it stable. At these setting RAM is back up to 1600MHz which is stock, at 7-8-7-24T. This snip is with Photoshop X64 running.
    Attachment 182477

You're welcome mate. Just double check that vcore doesn't exceed that chips max volt spec (don't know of the top of my head).

And Daves right, loosen the RAM and you might be able to lower that vcore. Then you can re-tighten timings.

    Aham,thanks for the answer smartey ! :)
    No problem :)

I've also scrapped the 2011 build - just don't need the power. (And I got impatient )

Instead I'm just going with 1155. I just ordered a ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Gen3 +2500K to play with until the ivy chip/revisions are released.

Hello, it's me again. But now I have bigger cpu freq.

I have oc'd my cpu at 3.2GHz and also underclocked my ram for a bit. Thanks to Dave76 for the advice about that. :)Post Your Overclock!-untitled.png

Temps are good also again. I'm suprised about this... :)

I'm running it at 3.9GHz and have it stalilized. I ran Prime for nearlt two hours and Intel burn on standard, high and very high and passed.
I raised the NB volts and lowered the CPU NB VID.
RAM is still stock at 1600MHz and 7-8-7.

    Very nice!
I was pretty sure with a bit of time, 3.2Ghz wouldn't be that hard to get with that chip :)

    Nice OC

Thanks Steve and Boshko. Good job on your as well Boshko.
Now trying to get my RAM up to better speed. This is a slight improvement, but has been over 23,000 MB/s

Glad to see you got it stable, it's not uncommon to have stability issues at XGHz and then be stable at X.2GHz, with lower temps.
Then sometimes you just hit a wall, and can't go beyond.

    Enjoy your OC

Nice OC, you might try tightening the RAM timings a little, see if it will run stable.
    That should help.
